In the 2014 Lok Sabha general elections, Mau assembly segment had given a lead of 22755 votes to the BJP’s Ghosi parliamentary seat nominee Harinarayan Rajbhar. Mukhtar Ansari of QED was his nearest rival in the Mau assembly segment.
